1. To take concrete steps geared towards the preservation of the environment by planting indigenous and non-indigenous fruit and other trees and fodder grass and to conserve the existing trees, grass and the soil.

2. To create awareness within the people of both Rukwa Region and other parts of the country so that they may be able to realize and visualize the problem of destruction of the environmental and take remedial measures/steps.

3. To work in collaboration with any party/parties, government departments, public, private and international organizations in the struggle to eradicate the problem of

destruction of the environment biodiversity.

4. To conduct informal education to the ordinary people, the young generation in schools, colleges and universities, armed forces and various other classes of persons on the problem of destruction of the environment.

5. To prepare, develop and conserve "pilotscherres'' and seedbeds and gardens for growing seedlings for trees and grass of various species to be distributed to the people for transplanting out. ·

6. To promote and initiate the publication of a Newsletter about the environment to serve as a forum for exchange of experiences and education.

7. To act as an umbrella organization for and coordinate activities of organizations/institutions affiliated to the society.

8. To do such other things as may be considered conductive to the attainment of the SOCIETY's aims and objectives.

9. To give people up to date knowledge and understanding for HIV/AIDS.

10. To educate people to begin to reverse the spread of HIV/AIDS which is spreading. faster among people in rural and urban areas especially young people below the age of 24. ·
